L. A. Starks is donating a percentage of the quarterly sales on each book sold to the Tulane University Rebuilding Fund. Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, is the largest private employer in Orleans Parish. Its president, Scott Cowen, and his colleagues are enabling Tulane to renew itself and to partner in rebuilding New Orleans. Cowen led the massive, unprecedented effort to restart the university after Hurricane Katrina's devastation. This effort continues. Cowen also serves on a task force charged with rebuilding and improving education for all of New Orleans' children. Tulane is joining its efforts with other universities--Loyola, University of New Orleans, Dillard, and Xavier--to ensure the future of post-high-school education in the region.  |
